The entire play runs 55 minutes and would be appropriate for a PTA meeting or as a special event at a school or church. The time frame of the story is in 1952. It requires a minimal set and has 3 males and 2 females in the cast.
Synopsis of Play
Salt & Pepper explores family, friendship and illiteracy. Salt's grandfather can't read or write. The grandfather is ashamed to tell anyone, and his silence has had a devastating effect on the entire family. Salt can barely read and Pepper, his new friend, reads voraciously. Together they discover a past, the secrets of which are revealed in an old box of mysterious postcards.
